MILEAGE Project Continued

November 11, 2019

Autumn 2019 is a very fruitful and busy season for the Project. I.F. Lab, a part of Life Chemicals, has been participating in business and administrative meetings, research and lab experiments, interdisciplinary seminars as well as bioinformatics study and workshops at the Rowett Institute of the University of Aberdeen (UK) and the Universite de Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) in Amiens (France).

Of special significance is a very dynamic exchange of experience and knowledge in all practical aspects of the Project: nutrition and cell biology, mathematical modeling of metal metabolism in ageing cells and computational chemistry services for cell homeostasis regulation.

It should be pointed out our joint work under the Project resulted in developing kinase and ion channel libraries. Furthermore, different screening libraries can be found on our website to meet your needs and tastes. They are based on activity, type of protein or protein family or research direction.

Presently, Dr. Anna Zaitseva is working at the Faculty of Pharmacology and Medicine, UPJV, to participate in the design of chemical libraries for a Copper transporter (CTR) family.

Earlier, Dr. Dariia Samofalova visited The Rowett Institute and had a good chance to work with resident statisticians/biomathematicians at BioSS, carrying out bioinformatics analysis of transcriptomic data and microarray data analysis, using data from MILEAGE microarray studies, with proteomic data for her research being provided as well.

Also, a series of business meetings to discuss current aspects and prospects of collaboration between I.F. LAB, the Rowett Institute, UPJV and other research groups held in Aberdeen and Amiens with participation of Mrs. Nataliia Koval and Mrs. Irina Fetyukhina has contributed into the Project administering and further coordination.
